    Epic Japan Ride summer 2019

Yup itís January but Iíve been working on this ride for a while so time to start the thread.
    Dates: August 2-16
Where : from Kyoto to Hokkaido and back.
Again Iíll post a map soon.
The general plan is as follows:
Leave Kyoto and get the ferry on August 2nd from Kyoto maizuru ferry port to otaru ferry terminal Hokkaido. Itís about 18 hours.
From there spend a few days in Hokkaido Ueno farm the road to heaven and work or way to Hakodate ferry terminal where we hop the ferry to Oma ( about 90 minutes).
From there we will work our way down to Kyoto ( or beyond if time permits) Zig zagging down going thru Amori, lake Towada, matsushina, Toyaba, Hakuba and Nagano to name a few.
This will be camping with a few inn stays along the way.

Stay tuned for maps and more details

Oma is a great place to stay so make sure you get the late afternoon ferry and stay at the Oma campsite.. also loads of good spots to visit in the aomori area.. Hope you like mixed Onsen..

This is a great campsite in Hokkaido and its a good ride to the port with plenty of free time to get the afternoon ferry..

Make sure you pre book the ferry if its hoilday week as they get full and you might have to wait days to get on one.

    look out for speed traps..

Add this Onsen as a must stop point in Aomori.. Great roads in the area and the Backpackers in Towada is a nice cheap place to stay..

This is the route i like.. The coast road along the top is a bit boaring and its worth paying a visit to the lake and the light house on the top right if you are in the area.. Good day of riding and you can end up at Towada back backers or the campsite behind Misawa AirBase

The rest of the route down to Fukushima looks good but you are missing all the good roads around Bandai
    Bandai Skyline
    Lake line
    Sky valley

All are must ride roads in that area also there is a free campsite spot down at the big lake..

Will add some good spots for Hokkaido.
