Wow Iím a little suprised. Let me ask you a couple questions on that bike then.
How are they suited as adventure bikes?
Can they be outfitted as adventure bikes fully?
Howís the seat height? I ask because my experience on the DRís that I have sat on is I had a problem putting both feet on the ground.

And finally if you had to rate 400-650cc adventure bikes 1-5 where would that sit compared to the trans alp, Versys 650 and Vstrom 650?
Got to do something soon so any pointers you can give in that direction are greatly appreciated.

The DR 650 is a great bike but doing long rides that seat is going to hurt bad... There are two kinds of ADV bike 100% on road Startbucks queens (Most of the KTM's and 90 % of the long way around BMW riders in Japan) .. If you want to go offroad 80% of the time then get a light weight 250cc bike but if planning to tour all over Japan then get a on road long distance touring bike .. The 650 V-Strom is a great bike for racking up road miles and a few gravel roads .The Transalp is a bit older but also a solid bike and good on fuel.. My KTM950 was a awesome bike and one day i hope to find a mega clean one.. The KTM 1190R was mega tall and hard to take off road but hard loads of power.. Would i buy a top of the range KTM from the dealer again (never)..

Looking for a cool Classic ADV bike to tour on next Year..

Should have never sold this one.. (we all make mistakes in life)

    That super tenre looks awsome!!!
So weíre saying stay away from the ktm and BMW which is fine when I sat on the 1150GS what a fracking heavy beast...
If I read it right your saying the Vstrom and the trans alp probably my best bets 1-2.
I know the trans alp has no ABS and the Vstrom does but itís not able to switch on/off.
Youíve ridden bikes with both Iíve not thoughts?
Iíve seen a couple 2014vstroms at dealers with low low under 1000kms but I canít get financed lol.... and thereís a chance I could do a deal on the trans alp Fitbit is a 93í.
    Duc goes for sure.
